ABOUT DANA

Dana McWilliams is a New York State, ASHA certified pediatric speech language pathologist. She specializes in the assessment and treatment of speech and language delays/disorders, as well as, feeding disorders.

 

Dana is a PROMPT Certified Clinician (Prompts for Restructuring Oral Muscular Phonetic Targets), a intervention for children with motor planning and speech-sound disorders.

 

Dana is trained in several methods of sensory feeding therapy including SOS Feeding (Sequential Oral Sensory) and Myofunctional Disorders. She specializes in the assessment of Tethered Oral Tissues (TOTs), restricted soft tissue (frenula) in the mouth, also known as tongue-tie, lip-tie and cheek-tie. Dana has worked on several g-tube weaning teams. 

She has worked with children diagnosed with Apraxia, Dysarthria, Autism Spectrum Disorder, Craniofacial conditions, Stuttering, Down Syndrome, ADHD, ADD and pragmatic delays.

 

Services are conveniently provided in home, at your child's school, or virtually. A team approach is utilized whenever possible to ensure carryover and generalization of newly acquired skills to the classroom and home. Dana is committed to providing an individualized program to meet the needs of each child and family.

Dana received a Bachelor of Arts in English from Binghamton University and earned a Masters of Science from Mercy College.

Dana resides on the Upper East Side of Manhattan with her husband and two daughters.
